Another step closer

Our cabinets are installed throughout the house. Final touchups are being put on the paint. Our ceiling in the living room should be put in sometime this week. It's all coming together. Let's just hope the interior of our house will be finished by the 20th. This is when the movers are coming. I think that I might have a mental breakdown before then! Here are some pictures of our cabinets, etc. Everything is hickory with a natural finish.
The kitchen
The living room. The fireplace will have stone on the hearth and up to the cabinet.
My front door. The stain turned out darker than I would have liked. Oh well!
Grayson playing peek a boo in the pantry, which is located in the laundry room.

House Sold!!

We sold our house!!! Yeah!!! They want to close on Feb. 15th. BAD!! We're trying to see if they will let us close two weeks later. This way we will no for sure that the interior of our new house will be complete. The 15th is pushing it!! Our kitchen cabinets will be in by Tuesday, countertops are hopefully going in the next week. Our hardwood floor will start being laid as soon as the cabinets go in. I guess I'm going to have to turn into a slave driver. :-) I'll keep you posted.

Potty training cont.

Grayson ended the night 4-1. I think that's a pretty good record for the beginning of potty training!!

Potty training

We have started the initial process of potty training Grayson. We won't be doing it "hardcore" until this summer when it will be easier. Right now in the evenings we put his big boy pants on and take him to the potty every 30 minutes. This evening we are so far 1-1. Oh well, he made it once! Here's a picture of him in his 2nd pair of big boy pants.

New House pictures

More pictures will be coming next week. Next week they are finishing the outside of the house (paint, etc if weather cooperates), and installing our cabinets!! It's very exciting!!
This is my dining room.

Our kitchen. Our table and chairs will be under this light. The door on the left is the entry to the Master bed/bath. The door on the right goes out to the screened porch.

The kids are playing in a little cubby in one of the spare bedrooms. In the future a TV, etc. can be placed in it.

Mark is acting goofy! My kitchen is red, the living room and hall is a gold. You can see a little of the exposed wooden beams. There are 2. Once it's finished there will be a wood ceiling, natural stain.

This is the tile in the master shower. Mark is proud that he can say that he helped to lay this tile. Our friend the Tile Man did this job. It looks better in person. All bathrooms and the laundry room will have the same color tile on the floors.

The SICK story-just let me whine!

Just call us the sick family. First, I came down with a stomach bug on Tuesday. Let me tell you it was not fun!! Thursday, I had a relapse. Also, on Thursday Reagan's cold/recovering ear infections took a turn for the worse. I had to take her to her pediatrician. We ended up being there for about 3 hourse. Let me remind you that I had a stomach but....NOT FUN!! The dr. wanted her to go to the hospital to be tested for RSV & Flu. His diagnosis was that it was RSV/FLU/bronchitis. Thankfully Mark was able to leave work and we played tag team. He took Reagan to the hospital while I went home sick. Oh yeah, we had people coming to look at our house that evening. So, sick me, sick Reagan, terrible 2 Grayson, tired daddy and 2 weiner dogs got to ride around for a couple of hourse during this time. Friday, I felt better, but Mark had been up all night with his stomach. I took Grayson to daycare and Reagan and I stayed at home doing breathing treatments. The dr. finally called around lunchtime to let us know that the tests were negative for RSV/Flu! Thanks goodness!! Mark brought Grayson home from daycare....his nose was runny. Reagan couldn't breathe so she didn't sleep well, and Grayson kept crying in his sleep. No sleep for Mommy. Saturday, I'm good as new. Reagan is starting to feel better......Grayson is feeling worse and running a fever. He does not sleep hardly at all Saturday night, while Reagan sleeps through the night for the first time in 2 weeks. Sunday. Reagan is MUCH better, Grayson is MUCH MUCH worse. Reagan has a follow up visit on Monday....I may break one of my rules and see if they can see Grayson too. Oh well, we are just a SICK HOUSE!

Christmas Review

Ok, so now we know that I am a horrible blogger. But hey, with 2 kids, a husband, a job, working on a master's degree, and building a house what can I say. Anyway, I hope to do a better job of keeping you posted. I do wonder if anyone reads this blog so if you do just let me know. This way I know if I'm wasting my time or not.

Christmas went well. Grayson is a pro at unwrapping presents and he got plenty of practice between Santa and grandparents. He even helped Reagan unwrap her presents, actually he helped her play with them too. I think that he may have liked the presents Santa brought Reagan better than the ones he received. Oh well, the grass is always greener...... Here are some pictures from Christmas.

Decorating cookies for Santa

Reagan decided to help by eating the icing.

Grayson is painting gingerbread frames to give to the g-parents.

Reagan and Grayson Christmas morning. Notice Mark ducking in the background. He was trying to make sure Grayson didn't throw Reagan.

This is my attempt at using the self timer and night vision on my camera.
Merry Christmas!!
